One More Way to Enjoy Your Stay in Asakusa: Introducing Yakatabune “Funayado Tsurishin” on the Sumida River

OTHER SPACE Asakusa is pleased to introduce Yakatabune Funayado Tsurishin, which operates traditional yakatabune boats on the Sumida River, as a recommended experience to enrich your stay in Asakusa.

Funayado Tsurishin is a yakatabune boathouse whose pier sits beside Umayabashi Bridge in Honjo, Sumida City. It is a two-minute walk from Kuramae Station on the Toei Oedo Line, making it easy to reach from the Asakusa area.

The appeal of a yakatabune cruise lies in drifting slowly along the Sumida River while viewing Tokyo’s cityscape from a perspective you cannot get on land. The scenery changes with the seasons, from cherry blossoms along the riverbanks in spring to fireworks festivals enjoyed from a front-row seat on the water in summer.

On board, guests can enjoy freshly prepared, mainly Japanese cuisine made with ingredients sourced directly from the market. Funayado Tsurishin describes its approach as welcoming every guest wholeheartedly, with careful attention to its food and hospitality, and it places importance on responding flexibly to each guest’s requests.

Two plans are available: a shared-boat plan for groups of two or more, and a private charter plan for groups of 15 or more. Guests can choose according to their purpose, whether a small sightseeing outing, a special occasion with family or friends, or a company banquet.

Adding a view from the Sumida River to a stroll around Senso-ji Temple and a stay at our hotel will make a trip to Asakusa all the more memorable. For details, please visit the official website below.
